Be Your Lover Forever (Alicia)

Chapter 1270

"What's this?" Lauren thought.

Right as her lips curved into a smile, she froze, capturing a bowtie on the top of a squiggly snake.

"Is this..." Bree and its family?

Did the squiggly lines mean it was playing? The ring patterns did look a lot like Bree's scales. Yvette was still too little, so her drawing wasn't very intricate, and the colors were somewhat off. But when she looked closely, she could still tell the three squiggly lines were connected. They were probably 'holding hands', weren't they? The small one in the middle with the bowtie was probably Bree, and the one to its side with the long hair must be its mother while the one with a mustache must be its father!

Her baby girl still missed her pet snake, didn't she?

And this drawing...

A family?

Lauren's heart ached as she looked at it!

Returning from washing her hands, Yvette leaned against the dining table, which was still a little tall for her right then, and looked at the dishes. It was always a joy to watch her eat.

With that, Lauren bent over and carried her to her special stool and gave her her plate and cutlery before she sat down on one side. "Would you like some eggs, Yvette?"

Yvette nodded and took a spoonful of mashed potatoes before pointing at the roasted sausage and zucchini. "Green. I want sausage!" "Okay, good girl!"

After scooping some sausage and zucchini into her plate, Lauren watched her baby daughter eat a spoonful after another, all merry! Speaking of which, this little one never barely made her worry, and she wasn't a picky eater. She could even merrily eat boiled potatoes and steamed vegetables. Lauren also didn't want to be too careful with her. She always believed it wasn't a big deal if a child had a few scratches and suffered a little. Plus eating simple meals, Yvette was healthier, livelier, and not picky. She barely got sick, very easy to take care of.

Lauren put a few prawns into her plate and occasionally wiped her mouth. Yvette, on the other hand, just focused on her favorite dish, finishing more than half of her mashed potatoes in no time.

"Yvette, aren't you going to eat your prawns?"

Seeing that the prawns were piled up to the side, she was somewhat baffled. Yvette had loved eating them, but why did she only eat the sausage and zucchini this time?

Shaking her head, Yvette took another scoop of zucchini and sausage into her plate and emptied it in no time; a plateful of mashed potatoes and half a plate of roasted sausage and zucchini went into her little belly. Then Lauren handed her a cinnamon roll.

"Are you full? Have a cinnamon roll! Or do you prefer berry filling?"

"I'm full! Mommy, I want to draw!"

"Alright!"

With that, she wiped Yvette's hands. Seeing that she barely touched her food when her baby girl had already finished her meal, Lauren didn't know what to make of herself. After helping Yvette jump down from her seat, she set the drawing papers and crayons aside.

"No running right after eating, so stand here and draw, okay? How about we play in the yard after I've finished eating?"

"Okay!"

"Good girl!" Ruffling her hair affectionately, Lauren put everything in place for her to continue drawing before she went back to her plate.

After clearing the table, they strolled in the yard, and Yvette rode her little car for a while before Lauren took her inside for a shower and read her a story. The productive day came to an end as Yvette fell soundly asleep.

It was the same day after day; a simple life, but full of joy and surprises. Yvette was a bundle of joy the heavens gifted her. Lauren thought there wasn't anything she couldn't solve every time she looked at her happy-go-lucky daughter.

While taking a nap that day, a call woke Lauren up. "Kaxen..."

Hearing he called to ask her to lip-sync for Nora, Lauren's brows locked into a tight furrow.

"Again? I thought we talked about this?"noveldrama

A lip-sync wasn't an easy job. No matter how they rehearsed, she'd feel mentally exhausted when it came to showtime. She'd wear out and take a few days to recover by the end from fixing her gaze on the monitor the entire performance.

"I know, I know. We've arranged according to your instructions! It's a concert this time. So they're looking for double insurance, a just-in-case! So I'm afraid you still have to come in! But if all goes well, you don't have to step in in! Honestly, apart from the hit song you recorded, her other work is all meh. So the opening hit can't have any mistakes! They're going to organize a few minor activities to test the waters; you're their just-in-case."

Taking a breath, Kaxen pleaded piteously.

"So, my dear, please take care of

your voice. I know you're born with it, but you still have to look after it, okay? Don't eat spicy food or anything that'll hurt your throat,

okay? Of course, I hope you do

have to step in. You should know I also get very nervous whenever you have to perform. We're also taking risks here. Looking at the time, this will be the last one! Are you really not going to consider becoming a singer? It'd be a waste of God's creation..."

"This again? Okay, I got it! Send me the details. I'll check the rehearsal time with her!"

Lauren couldn't help feeling troubled after ending the call. "I don't have the motivation to do a job that doesn't have a special purpose anymore!" She thought.

Getting up, she stretched, facing the sunshine outside the window. "Oh, what the heck, for Yvette to have a beautiful Mommy she could show off with, you have to do your best, Lauren!"

Seeing it was a sunny day, she went down with the blanket on the bed after doing a quick clean-up.

Lauren sat under the umbrella after getting busy. Just as she told the servants to make her a cup of

coffee, she saw the butler coming in driving the black Rolls-Royce.

"Hm, isn't that the car used to pick up Yvette? Why did he drive that car out?" She couldn't help wondering.

Bewildered, just as she wanted to instruct, the car door opened, and a tiny pink figure jumped out from the butler's side, head downcasted and a little timid.

Yvette?

Why did she come back at this time?

As she got closer, she noticed Yvette's hair was mussed, and her face and clothes were dirty; she even looked like she had cried. Surely, she had fought with

someone. She must've caused

trouble in school, and her teacher wanted her to call her parents, but she didn't dare to, resulting in her calling the butler over. Convinced, Lauren got upset.

"Yvette Luther!"

With that, Yvette ran over to her, crying, "Mommy..."

"What happened? Why are you in such a mess? Did you get into a fight?"

Right then, the butler came up.

"Don't worry, Miss Luther. They just had a little clash, and the other child got a little scratch, but her parent made a big deal about it. I've already sorted it all out!"

Hearing that someone got hurt, Lauren got angrier, slapping her buttock twice. "How did I teach you? I didn't send you to school to fight with other

children!"

Knowing this little one was quite mischievous, already a few children and parents coming up to her when she scared the children with her pet snake, and now that it was gone, she started fighting, Lauren slapped a little harder.

"Have you learned your lesson?"

Bawling her eyes out, she explained, "Lilia started it. She even said you're a vixen..."
