Chapter 41
Chapter 41:.
All three were looking at the camera. However, since the two boys were discovered, they started to deliberately put on masks whenever they were in the corridors to prevent anyone from discovering anything.
The resolution of the camera was also very low, so it was impossible to tell the two children apart right away.
Justin hesitated for a moment. Then he pointed to one of the children first and said, “This looks like Pete.”
Nora scoffed and said, “That’s my daughter.”
In truth, not only were the two children exactly the same height, but their physiques were identical. Nora could only recognize Cherry by the Spiderman costume she was wearing.
Unconvinced, Justin asked, “Really?”
He couldn’t tell. So, he fixed his gaze on Chester instead. When he did, a fierce murderous aura immediately erupted from him!
Nora’s sarcastic voice rang out beside him. “That appears to be your younger brother, Mr. Hunt.”
“…”
Outside the door, three heads lined up in turn. Their heads were turned sideways, and they had their ears pressed to the door as they listened quietly to the sounds in the room.
Thud! Clang! Bam!
The commotion inside the room caused all three of them to be perplexed.
A bewildered Cherry and Pete looked at Chester. “Uncle Chester, what are Dad and Mom doing, are they tearing the place down?”
Chester replied triumphantly, “They’re ‘fighting’ with each other! It’s not something the kids have to understand! In any case, their relationship will definitely improve after the fight!”
Cherry was a little worried. She asked, “Is the fight supposed to be so intense?”
Chester raised an eyebrow and replied, “Of course! There may even be lives at stake. The two of them are exactly the results of their fight in the past!”
“…”
Cherry was confused.
She frowned and asked, “But what if Mom beats up on Dad so hard that he breaks?”
A sullen-looking Pete came in angrily. “How can Dad raise his hand against a woman, he’s too ungentlemanly! No wonder he can’t woo Mom successfully.”
Chester was puzzled.
Then he continued to listen to the sounds in the room for a while with great interest as he was secretly impressed; after all, Justin really was Justin. The commotion they were making was sure to be enormous.
However, the sounds ceased after a short time.
She pressed her ear against the door and asked quietly, “I can’t help but feel bad about helping them keep the truth from Justin. When are they going to tell him the truth?”
Although Cherry was quick of reflex, she had no concrete opinion on this matter. Therefore, she looked at her brother.
Pete pursed his lips and replied, “I’ll tell him everything after Mom cures Great-Grandma’s illness.”
Pete had thought this through. Blindly keeping the secret was disrespectful to his parents, especially when his mother kept looking for him all over the world while going through unimaginable mental torment.
If they didn’t fall in love with each other even after spending the next few days together, then he wouldn’t force them anymore.
Just as Chester was about to say something, the door suddenly shook: someone was banging on the door from inside.
Immediately, an angry voice came from inside the room, “Chester, open the door right now!”
“…”
A minute later, the metal lock opened.
A furious Justin took Pete and Chester upstairs.
Nora didn’t care how he was going to punish Chester. Instead, she sat on the couch and stared at Cherry. She asked sternly, “Why did you do that, Cherry?”
Cherry hung her head and looked at her fingers, so intimidated that she didn’t dare speak.
Nora softened her tone and asked, “You want me to get together with Justin Hunt?”
Cherry nodded her head and replied, “Mom, if you woo Pa…I mean, Justin to be your husband, how awesome would it be when you dated him! Not only is he handsome, but he’s rich, too! Don’t you want that?”
Nora was speechless.
She rubbed her temples and asked, “Whose lousy idea was this?”
Cherry sold her uncle short this time. “Chesty’s!”
Upstairs.
Chester looked uneasily at Justin, who was sitting on the couch with a serious countenance. He swallowed hard and said, “J-Justin, I meant well. You haven’t been with any woman for so many years, what if you go crazy from too much abstinence?”.
He was so scared his legs were jelly.
He had just squeezed his legs together when he heard Justin’s deep voice: “As punishment, no living expenses for you for half a year.”
His words stunned Chester, and he said, “That’s it?”
He had thought that because he had conspired against Justin, following the tyrant’s way of doing things, he would have had him castrated and crippled from the waist down.
Justin raised an eyebrow. “What, you find that too lenient?”.
Chester reacted immediately and jumped back, anxious. He replied, “No, of course not! That’s half a year’s worth of living expenses! How am I going to buy credits for the game? It can’t get any worse than that.”
After running away, Justin leaned back on the couch. The scene that flashed through his mind, however, was of him holding the shoulders of the woman who remained downstairs and kissing her.
He touched his lips; the feeling of softness still seemed to linger.
Then, she thought unconsciously of the moment when the bath towel had suddenly fallen…. No, she hadn’t seen anything. Not at all.

The next day.
Nora had Mrs. Lewis pack her belongings early in the morning. Then, she went to the airport at noon.
Knowing that she was going to New York with Justin, Simon and Melissa also decided to take the same flight back. Upon their return, Simon would be transferred to Finest Hospital in New York. There, the level of medical care was much better than in California.
Only upon arrival at the airport did Nora learn that they were actually taking a private plane.
Melissa, impressed, commented with a sigh, “Private planes have to be scheduled in advance, so everyone has to book ahead. For Justin to be able to arrange all this so quickly, the Hunts live up to their reputation as the number one family indeed.”
At the mention of the Hunts, Nora’s eyes flickered a little uncomfortably.
From then on, Nora could also see how meticulous Justin was.
Justin had prepared a room for her that not only had a large, comfortable bed, but also had a shower room so that her sleeping needs were fully met.
She slept the whole way there.
Two hours later, they arrived in New York.
Melissa went home first with Cherry and the luggage, while Nora and the hospital staff who came to pick them up accompanied Simon and Justin to Finest Hospital.
When they arrived at the hospital, Nora helped Simon get settled first in the VIP room. Then, she made her way to the ICU room.
Justin had already sent her Elder Mrs. Hunt’s medical records in California when he agreed to treat her illness.noveldrama
Nora didn’t want to waste any time. The day she would save the old lady’s life would be the day her son would return. So she wanted to go take a look at him and schedule the operation for her as soon as possible.
But he did not expect that the moment he arrived he would hear an urgent beeping sound coming from the heart rate monitor in the ICU ward.
At the door, some people from Howard’s family were confronting Justin and Pete.
Pete, wearing a mask and cap, was looking anxiously toward the room.
Justin’s second uncle pointed at Pete and yelled, “You brat! Your great-grandmother went critical as soon as you got back. Given her current condition, she won’t be able to be operated on even if we find Anti! It’s too late!”
Pete’s eyes reddened as he clenched his small fists.
‘Great-grandmother, you have to hold on!’
Justin frowned. He had an expression of dismay all over his countenance. Obviously, his grandmother had been in stable condition. Why had her condition deteriorated so quickly?
Beep…
Suddenly, a high-pitched voice reached them from inside the ICU room.
“We’re losing her!”
The doctor’s shout also came from the room….
