Nora

Chapter 67

Chapter 67:

Jon’s expression didn’t change as he replied, “It’s Doctor Zabe.”

Immediately, Joel set out to instruct his subordinates to invite him.

However, Jon stopped him. He said, “He is already very old, and has even become somewhat distracted and bedridden. But I have heard that he has taken in a pupil who has inherited all his skills. Unfortunately, this person is very mysterious. No one knows where he is.”

Joel frowned. His gaze fell on Ian, who was lying on the bed.

Jon contemplated for a while before speaking again. He said, “I can keep Mr. Smith alive, but you’ll have to let him rekindle his will to live or find Doctor Zabe’s student.”

Joel nodded, a slightly sharp look appearing in his flirtatious eyes. “In that case, please help my uncle regain consciousness as soon as possible, Mr. Myers.”

“Okay.”

Jon pulled out a silver needle and jabbed it into several of Ian’s important spots. Then, he pulled out a pill, crushed it and popped it in his mouth.

After a little work, Ian’s heartbeat stabilized again.

Jon wiped the sweat from his brows and said to Joel, “Mr. Smith should be able to wake up tomorrow. I’ll have Tina come in personally to check on him every day and we’ll do everything we can to keep him alive until you find Doctor Zabe’s successor.”

A smile formed again on Joel’s countenance. “All right, I’ll have the butler accompany you.”

After the two left, a delicate, feminine voice suddenly rang out. “Joel, it’s obvious that he’s capable of curing Dad, and yet he keeps going here with you instead. Besides, Doctor Zabe? He sure talks a lot of nonsense.”

Joel smiled at this.

He turned to see an attractive figure enter: it was Ian’s adopted daughter, Yvonne Smith.

Ian had never married in his entire life, choosing only to adopt a daughter. All the Smiths’ other children were boys, so they adored their only younger sister very much.

Joel said, “As long as I can cure Uncle Ian’s illness, what’s the problem with helping him boost his reputation?”

Yvonne stuck out her tongue and looked down.

Everyone said she was the Smith Princess in New York, but no one knew she was actually the one Joel was most afraid of.

The new Smith boss was always smiling, kind and generous, but Yvonne always had the feeling that there was a thin wall between the two of them….

In the driveway of the Smith residence.

It took the car ten minutes to drive from the villa where Ian lived to the gate of the mansion.

Only when she saw that they were on the main road did Tina finally look away from the mansion.

She looked at Jon nervously. “Sir, Ian Smith is already on his deathbed. Even he himself doesn’t want to live anymore; how can we save his life?”

Ian had no external or internal injuries. From the perspective of modern medicine, there was nothing wrong with him.

However, his internal organs were slowly failing…..

Jon stretched out his hand: half a pill rested in his palm. He said, “Stop by every day to check on him. Give him a couple of pinpricks at unimportant points on his body first, and then have him consume this pill. This will keep him alive.”

Tina exclaimed, “Sir, that pill is…”.

Jon let out a heavy sigh and replied, “It’s the Rest Pill.”

Tina’s eyes widened. “That pill is worth a lot! You…”

Jon clenched his fist and closed his eyes. Because of his age, the skin on his eyelids was loose and sagging. He ordered, “Have someone buy them secretly from Harmonia Pharmacy. Let no one find out anything. Harmonia Pharmacy has won this round, thanks to the Resting Pill. If we don’t get anything big, we’ll probably be outclassed!”

Tina immediately understood what Jon meant.

The Myers had made a name for themselves overnight by using the Rest Pill to cure Elder Mrs. Hunt. In addition, it had also allowed Jon to solidify his position in the field of traditional medicine. However, now that the Resting Pill had become the Andersons’, it had taken the glory away from them.noveldrama

Doctor Zabe was the only one capable of curing Ian, but Jon had successfully kept him alive. This was certainly a glorious thing to tell everyone about.

Tina sat up straight and said earnestly, “Don’t worry, sir. I’ll make sure I don’t screw up and give anything away.”

It was getting late and the moon was already visible in the sky.

The streets of New York were filled with cars. From a distance, it was as if the stream of red lights from the cars stretched on endlessly.

Although the Anderson residence was not a large mansion, it was located in the center of the city and was a small quiet area amidst the noise of the city. The market value of the small villa exceeded ten million.

After dinner, Mrs. Anderson and Melissa took Nora to the study.

The swelling around Mrs. Anderson’s eyes had already gone down and she had fully recovered her vision. She looked at Nora kindly and asked, “Nora, Cherry must be five by now, right? It’s not appropriate to leave her at home all the time. Do you have any plans to send her to the garden?”.

Nora had thought of this a long time ago.

Originally, her trip to New York was only going to be a temporary stay, but now that her son was here, it was likely that she would have to stay permanently.

She nodded her head and asked, “What’s the best kindergarten nearby?”

Cherry had a very high IQ, so she was not the same as other children. She was impatient and, other than when playing, could not sit still at all, no matter what she did.

This was the only reason Nora had allowed her to play, so she could practice concentrating. However, the truth was that the play time she had each day was limited.

Considering her situation, she needed a kindergarten with the most abundant human resources, so that there would be the most professional teachers there to take care of her.

At his question, Melissa puzzled for a moment before replying, “The best kindergarten around here is the Sol de Oro International Kindergarten.”

Mrs. Anderson frowned and complemented, “However, it is difficult to enroll in that kindergarten.”

Nora was puzzled.

Melissa explained, “It’s the best daycare in New York. The students there are either wealthy or of noble status. Given our family’s conditions, neither Sheril nor Logan were accepted into the school as children…”

He said, “The main reason is that not only does the kindergarten have strict requirements for the children, but they also have very demanding requirements for the parents. Parents must be special talents or senior cadres. In addition, there are also varied content assessments set up specifically for parents.”

Nora went straight to the key point. She asked, “What is considered a special talent?”

Melissa replied, “It’s talents that have made major contributions. It will also work if the parents are first-class black card holders.”

A puzzled Mrs. Anderson asked, “What’s a first-class black card?”

Melissa shook her head. “I’ve only heard of it and I’ve never seen it.”

Nora’s gaze flickered slightly, however.

A black first-class bank card was a credit card with no credit limit.

Currently, there were only a two-digit number of black cards in the world. It was said that these dozen people had formed a mysterious organization known as the Imperial League.

The members of the Imperial League were world tycoons or top politicians, and they controlled the world economy.

They were very mysterious, and even an occasional conversation among them was capable of triggering global economic storms. However, all members were anonymous, and even people in the organization itself did not know who the others were.

Everyone privately speculated that, in the entire United States, the person who could have such a black card had to be Justin. So everyone, no matter who he was, treated him very courteously.

Anyone who had a black card like that could buy the kindergarten itself, so there would definitely be no enrollment restrictions for them.

The corners of Nora’s lips curved upward. She was about to say something when her cell phone rang.

However, when she saw the name on the caller ID, she was surprised for a moment.

Why was he calling her?
