Chapter 82
Chapter 82:.
Justin tensed suddenly.
He straightened his back, feeling as if all the blood in his body was about to rush straight to his face.
Did he want to buy him?
Hah.
That woman’s way of confessing her love was really very unique.
The corners of his lips slowly curved up. However, it was at that moment that he heard the continuation of her words, “…to your son.”
Justin was a bit taken aback. A look of surprise appeared in his dark blue eyes, and even the beauty mark at the corner of his eye looked a little puzzled and confused.
“What?” she asked.
With the alcohol bolstering her courage, Nora repeated, “I want to buy your son! Is eight hundred million dollars enough?”
However, the man fell silent after she said that.
They both held the cell phone to their ear and were silent for a very, very long time.
Nora looked at her cell phone hesitantly and muttered, “Huh? Is my cell phone out of range? Mr. Hunt, are you still there?”.
“…”
There was still no response from the other end.
“That’s strange. Why isn’t he talking? …Beep…. beep… beep…”
Justin was still at a loss for words even when he heard the disconnect tone on the phone.
He stared at the cell phone indecisively for quite a while, unable to figure out what Nora was thinking.
Why was she so obsessed with her son every day?
He toweled his hair dry and put on his pajamas. After leaving the bedroom, he saw Sean, who had come to pass him some papers that required his signature.
Justin took the pen, signed the documents and handed them back to Sean.
Sean reached out to receive them, but found that he couldn’t move the papers at all – Justin was still holding them.
He hesitated for a moment before asking, “Is there anything else you need me for, Mr. Hunt?”
Justin suddenly asked, “What could be the reason for a woman to constantly fixate on my friend’s son, and even offer to buy him out for eight hundred million dollars?”
Sean replied, “… I remember Miss Smith has a daughter, is she trying to get close to you so she can commit the two children to each other?”
Justin, “…”
After a long moment, a deep voice said, “Go away.”
Sean took the papers from him, turned and started walking leisurely toward the door. He had barely taken a couple of steps when he heard Justin cough and say, “That question was from a friend, not me. Besides, the woman in question is not Miss Smith.”
Sean, who wisely did not expose his lie, nodded and said, “Yes, Mr. Hunt.”

The day of the dance party was not long in coming.
Nora was still sleeping when Sheril pulled her out of bed and placed her clothes on the bed. She told her, “Hurry up and change, Nora. Even though the party starts in the afternoon, you’ll need time to put on your makeup.”
Nora rubbed her eyes sleepily and asked, “Are you still going to go?”
Rachel and Caden were going to dance at the party, so she had thought Sheril would definitely forgo attending.
However, Sheril was full of fighting spirit. She said, “He’s the one who betrayed me, so why shouldn’t I go? Come on, hurry up and get up.”
So, she went out to put on her makeup.
However, the moment she closed the door, the light in Sheril’s eyes went out.
A breakup was a very painful thing. Even if one could think about it clearly and logically, there was no way to get over it so quickly.
However, Mom had said that the attendees at today’s dance party would be mostly young people. At the same time, it was also an occasion with the largest number of attendees in the near future. Therefore, it was the best opportunity to introduce everyone to Nora, a young lady from the Andersons.
Nora was not to be held back.
As he finished dressing and was about to go to see Nora, the door to Nora’s room finally opened. Nora was wearing a white shirt and black pants, and she also had on a black women’s blazer. The outfit was slightly cinched at the waist, giving her a neat and elegant look.
Sheril was surprised. “Nora, why are you wearing that?”.
Nora waved and replied, “If I dress like that, I’m sure no one will ask me to dance.”
She didn’t know how to dance. If someone asked her to dance, it would be too embarrassing to say she couldn’t dance, so she might as well dress like that and make it clear that she didn’t want to dance….. Well, that was one way to do it, too.
Sheril believed her.
The two of them went downstairs and got into the car to go to the dance party. Nora leaned against the window lazily. Suddenly, her cell phone vibrated.
When she picked it up and looked at it, she realized it was a text message from Tanya. It said, “Honey, I’ve arrived in New York! Where are you, I can’t wait to give you a big hug.”
It sounded like she was burning with passion.
Nora smiled and laughed. Then her long, slender fingers tapped a couple of times on her cell phone casually and she sent him an address. She typed, “There’s a dance party here, are you coming?”.
Tanya replied, “I’ll go, I’ll go! Of course, I have to go! I’m coming right now! Wait for me~!”
She knew that woman loved to join in the fun.
Nora put down the cell phone and stuffed it in her pocket. An icy look appeared in her eyes.
Sheril had said she would just consider that she was too blind to trust the wrong person, so she would leave the matter with Caden. Besides, she was grateful to Rachel for helping her discover her ex-boyfriend’s personality.
However, Nora had always been one to give an eye for an eye.
The dance party was going to be very exciting tonight.
Soon, the car arrived at the party site.
The dance party, which was being held in the conference room of the Finest Hotel, was considered to be a gathering of wealthy young people and socialites.
Sheril, who was wearing a red dress, took Nora’s arm gracefully and entered the venue. As soon as they entered, she heard someone next to her say, “I think Rachel Wood will probably be the center of the party tonight!”.
“How can that be? There’s also Miss Smith!”
“Don’t you know? Mr. Smith’s condition has taken a turn for the worse. Although Miss Smith is the one hosting the party, she’s not here today.”
“…”
Hearing what they were saying, Sheril lowered her voice and explained, “This dance party is meant for young people. It is hosted every year by the one with the best family history among the young ladies in New York. The Hunts don’t have any young ladies of the right age, so the one with the best status at present is the Smith young lady. She is the adopted daughter of Mr. Ian Smith and is very much spoiled at home. She is the one who has organized all the dance parties for the past few years. She has a very good character and is quite well known in the circle.”
Ian Smith’s adopted daughter…
Nora nodded.
Suddenly, Sheril stopped walking. Nora followed her line of sight and immediately saw Rachel taking Caden’s arm and walking through the crowd.
Someone next to her also whispered, “Isn’t Caden Sheril’s dance partner? Why is he Rachel’s now?”
“I heard it’s because Rachel got to invite Tanya to come to her house to teach him how to dance. His goal is to be a professional dancer, so if Tanya can give him some tips, he’ll probably have a better chance of winning when he enters international ballroom dance competitions!”
“Huh? But what about Sheril? Poor girl…”noveldrama
A stranger’s compassion was actually the biggest insult to Sheril.
She lowered her head and said, “Nora, let’s go to the corner…”
Before she could finish, however, Rachel spotted them from a distance and immediately called out with a smile, “Sheril! You’re here!”
She dragged Caden with her and approached Sheril. With a bright smile, she said, “You and Caden always took first place in the past because you had him leading. I was even thinking of competing with you this year! Where’s your partner, by the way?”
Sheril clenched her fists.
Just then, the beep of a text message notification sounded.
Nora picked it up and glanced at it: it was a message from Tanya: “I’ll be there in a minute!”.
