Nora

Chapter 85

Chapter 85:

Rachel craned her neck and looked at the entrance. She saw that a group of people had already milled there.

She glanced at Sheril and Nora, who had just finished dancing. A hint of arrogance and triumph appeared in her eyes. She straightened her dress, looked down, and said, “I’m going to go say hello to Miss Turner.”

Caden’s eyes lit up. He said, “I…”

Before he could say the words ‘I’ll go with you,’ Rachel cut him off and said, “The people gathered around Tanya there are all rich and famous young women. What are you going there for? Wait. Tanya will have to come to my house for classes. You’ll see her then.”

He turned and left immediately after saying that.

Rachel spoke imposingly and loudly, so everyone dancing nearby heard her, which caused them to look at Caden in half amusement.

Caden clenched his fists. He felt like he’d been slapped a few times hard on the cheeks.

Rachel just didn’t respect him at all!

For the past few days when he had practiced dancing with her, she had lectured him sternly like a child every day. She had such a bad temper!

He couldn’t help but look away: the woman in the red dress had already approached the couch and sat down.

Caden, who was having an internal struggle, stayed in his seat for a while. Then she came closer.

Dancing tango was very tiring. A breathless Sheril walked over to the sitting area with Nora and took a seat.

“You are amazing at dancing, Nora!” It had been a long time since Sheril had had such a good time dancing. A look of excitement appeared on her rosy cheeks.

The corners of Nora’s lips slowly curved into a smile, though she kept quiet.

The flutter of activity at the door drew their attention and they looked over to see that a large crowd had gathered there. However, they did not know who had arrived.

As they wondered, some people standing next to them who were also trotting toward the entrance said, “Tanya Turner is here! My goodness! It was worth coming to this year’s party!”

Upon hearing Tanya Turner’s name, a surprised Sheril immediately looked at Nora.

She remained comfortably seated on the couch and did not move. Instead, she said lazily, “That woman is the center of attention wherever she goes, so she’ll probably be held up for a while. Don’t worry, I’ll introduce them both later.”

Sheril nodded immediately. “Okay!”

Anyone who liked to dance would want to meet someone like Tanya.

She looked at the entrance eagerly….

However, a voice suddenly sounded next to her at that moment. “Come with me, Sheril.”

The familiar voice made Sheril’s eyes darken.

When she turned and saw Caden standing beside her with his usual smile, she felt as if her heart had been pierced by a needle.

She lowered her gaze and asked coolly and distantly, “Is something wrong?”

Caden hadn’t expected her to treat him so coldly. In the past, whenever he’d come over to cajole her after they’d gotten into an argument, even though she’d put on a long face too, she’d always treated him with respect and followed him into the corner to talk.

It seemed she was quite angry this time.

Caden let out a sigh. He half squatted down next to her and said, “Don’t be angry anymore, Sheril.”

“Don’t get mad anymore…”.

He spoke the same way he had in the past, like an innocent man with a low IQ who had no idea how he had made her angry. It made one not have the nerve to lose one’s temper with him.

Sheril looked down and said, “Yes, I’m not angry anymore.”

Caden perked up immediately and reached out to take her hand. Before he could do so, however, the girl avoided his touch. Sheril looked at him coldly and said, “We have nothing to do with each other anymore, so why would I still be mad at you?”noveldrama

Caden was stunned on the spot. His eyebrows drew together as if he really didn’t understand. He said, “Stop making a fuss, Sheril. There’s really nothing going on between Rachel and me. We’re just working with each other.”

Making a fuss?

Sheril smiled wryly, finding it really ridiculous. “Whatever your relationship is with her, it has nothing to do with me.”

“Sheril, you just said you’re not angry anymore, so why are you saying those things again?” Caden took a deep breath and said, “The only reason I danced with Rachel is because of Tanya’s orientation. Indeed, she has a bad temper and is always saying things to embarrass you and put you on the spot, but can’t you hold it in a little for the sake of my future?”

She had a smile on her face when she said that.

Sheril felt extremely upset.

Her expression turned icy and she said, “You’re wrong about something, Caden.”

“What?”

Sheril scoffed, “My mother didn’t give birth to me and raise me in fine clothes and exquisite food to suffer with you and bully me!”

‘Suffer with you…’

Caden clenched his fists and said, “Deep down, it’s only because you despise me, isn’t it? You think you’re a rich young lady while I’m a penniless beggar, right?”.

Sheril, “?”

If she was really someone who cared about things like that, why would she go out with him for two years?

However, she couldn’t be bothered to say anything else. She immediately said, “Please stay away from me.”

Caden, however, looked furious. He said, “That’s enough, Sheril! Do you really think you’re a rich young woman? Wake up! The Andersons have long since fallen into decadence.”

Sheril’s eyes widened. “What?”

Caden’s words were ruthless and nasty. “Your family is about to fall from the ranks of the rich soon! Why do you keep throwing a tantrum like a rich young lady here! Your family probably can’t even talk to Tanya Turner, let alone ask her to teach!

You always say you’re not interested in becoming a professional dancer and that you’d rather lock yourself at home to study medicine, but in my opinion, it’s not because you don’t want to but because you can’t!

The only part of you that’s better than Rachel is that you have a better character! But in terms of family background, how do you compare to her? She’s the real princess here, okay? Her family can ask Tanya Turner to give her lessons just because she wants to learn how to dance.”

As he spoke, Rachel had already made her way to the front of the crowd.

Tanya was tall and thin. Dressed in a casual suit and baseball cap, she was signing autographs for others. She had an ear-to-ear smile as well as a cheerful, outgoing personality.

When it was Rachel’s turn, he asked, “Tanya, do you still remember me? The Woods have made an appointment with you for a dance class.”

“The Woods?” Tanya blinked. “Oh, Rachel Wood, right?”

Nora had told her that she was living with the Andersons in New York.

So, she had asked someone to find out more about them. Melissa Anderson, the Andersons’ current partner, was the Wood’s daughter, so the two families probably shared a very close relationship.

It just so happened that the Woods had also made an appointment with her for a dance lesson at a steep price, so she had made a point of remembering a little more about Rachel, so she wouldn’t embarrass Nora.

After the two chatted a bit casually, Tanya said, “Sorry everyone, I’m here today to pick up a close friend. Let’s come back to give autographs another day.”

Everyone present was a respectable person in the circle, so they stepped aside after she said that.

After Tanya left, they immediately surrounded Rachel.

“Wow, Rachel! Miss Turner remembers your name!”

“Given the Woods’ status, coupled with Rachel being quite talented at dancing, what’s so strange about Tanya remembering her? That’s the way it should be.”

As she listened to his compliments, a triumphant smile formed on Rachel’s countenance.

So what if Sheril had danced well just now?

Tanya probably didn’t even know who she was.

It’s just who exactly was Tanya looking for?
