Master of his heart (Brielle and Max)

Chapter 1459

Lewis held her close, his voice a soft whisper. "Yeah."

Neither of them had ever been in a situation like this before. They were both navigating unfamiliar territory, thankfully shielded by the shadow of a tree, keeping their activities hidden from anyone nearby.

Kailee wasn't like other girls; she saw the world in black and white. But now, as Lewis caused her pain, she immediately labeled him a villain.

She cried for an hour before she started to see the humor in it all. Deep down, she knew something was shifting between her and Lewis, and it made her uneasy.

She had once entertained the idea of having kids with King, but it was all just talk. The thought of actually being with King that way made her cringe. Besides, with a sweet son like Isaac, she felt no need for more children. But now, being with Lewis, did that mean she was supposed to have his children? She wanted to push Lewis away, but he, having tasted the forbidden fruit, wouldn't stop.

It wasn't until the early hours of the morning, after she had passed out, that he finally covered her with a blanket and drove off.

Kailee awoke, clueless about her surroundings, finding herself clean and cozy in bed. Her first instinct was to slap the jerk awake. She felt tainted, sullied by him. But she was too drained. The slap could wait until tomorrow.

Lewis stood by the bed, amused by the sight of her sleeping like a kitten, eyes swollen from crying and cursing, only to fall asleep once her head hit the pillow. After showering, he lay in bed, still finding it surreal how easily things had gone his way. Kailee, too trusting for her own good.

In the morning, she woke up feeling sore, every small movement sending pain through her back. But the smell of food hit her nose, sparking a fierce hunger.

Seeing an unfamiliar ceiling startled

her, and she tried to get out of bed, only to collapse weakly to the floor. There, she spotted a feast on the table, bizarrely made up of all her favorite dishes.

She looked toward the window, where Lewis was engrossed in a book, also busy with some data work.

Kailee had planned to slap him first thing, considering what he did was criminal. But faced with all her favorite dishes, she hesitated, gulping down her pride. She figured there was no rush; she could eat first. She needed the energy.

After devouring the meal and just as she was about to confront him, Lewis brought over beautifully plated slices of fruit.

Kailee was a complex person. Tease her, and she'd fight back with everything she had. But treat her well, and she'd suddenly feel guilty and unsure.noveldrama

After all, here he was, cooking and slicing fruit for her. Slapping him now seemed a bit much, didn't it?

Hesitating, she picked up a fork and began to eat slowly. Once she was full, she felt ready to slap him. But Lewis approached, gently pressing along her waist, hitting a spot that made her sigh in relief.

She thought maybe she could slap him after he finished the massage. But his hands were too soothing, working magic on her. Damn, if only she could keep those hands

After eating and being massaged, Kailee fell asleep again, without hesitation. From the moment she was taken to waking up and falling back asleep, she hadn't spoken a word to Lewis. He had completely overwhelmed her.

By evening, when she woke up hungry again, another delicious meal awaited her, all her favorites once more.

How did Lewis know her tastes so well? Kailee ate while silently shedding tears over her lack of willpower.
