Chapter 1466
Arriving at the diner, Kailee waved confidently as she walked in. "Hey there, Auntie! Just the usual for me, but make it a double today, alright?"
Auntie glanced at Lewis, their eyes meeting briefly before they looked away. Kailee, always the life of the party, could chat up a storm with anyone. In a nutshell, she was a natural storyteller!
Once Auntie brought over their order, Kailee jumped right into the conversation. "So, Auntie, where did we leave off last time? Your son, the one with the unshakeable crush-did he manage to win back his ex-girlfriend, the one who dumped him?" Auntie gave Lewis a sidelong glance, unsure how to respond. What was the deal now? Did he get her back or not?
Lewis had always been fiercely independent, never involving his family in his business. Any decisions he made, he kept to himself. As parents, they never had to worry about him. Their family was well-off, and when he decided to become a doctor, no one objected. He studied psychology, then switched careers without a word to anyone. It was only through the news that Auntie learned about his career shift.
"He's probably still trying, but honestly, I don't know for sure."
Kailee raised an eyebrow in surprise. "Your son doesn't even give you a heads-up? That's kind of rebellious, isn't it?"
"My son values his independence. Whatever he chooses, we support him wholeheartedly."
Kailee nodded, flashing a cheeky grin. "Oh, by the way, I might need double helpings from now on. I got married today, and this is my husband."
Auntie's eyes went wide. "Say what now?"
Kailee repeated with a laugh. "Yep, I'm a married woman. This is my husband. Lucky guy, huh? I think so too!"
Kailee continued, her bragging in full swing. "My family's pretty wealthy, you know. I've mentioned investing in your diner to turn it into a North American chain, but you love this place too much. So I'll just keep coming here, but now it'll be with my husband." Auntie's eyes lit up, and she gave Kailee a congratulatory pat on the shoulder. "Well, congratulations!"
Kailee beamed. "Absolutely thrilled!
just saw those so-called friends of mine. They were fuming when they heard I married their dream guy. Almost fainted from shock!"
She laughed, taking a deep breath. "So today, I'm eating for three!"
Auntie watched her fondly, finding her quite endearing, chattering away like a little sparrow. She had imagined her son, with his sharp mind, would fall for someone more intellectual. But he fell for someone lively and genuine. She chuckled was all that

mattered.
Lewis watched Kailee devouring her meal, her cheeks puffed like a chipmunk. With his head propped on one hand, he wasn't really focused on his food, just on her. When Kailee finished, she noticed his gaze and teased, "How do I look? Stunning enough to knock you out?"noveldrama
Lewis chuckled, his shoulders shaking. "Yeah, absolutely stunning."
"Oh, and Lewis, you've got to see my mansion. Let's head there now. It's our home, and the code is 666666." Typical of her to go for something straightforward. Lewis ruffled her hair, his eyes full of affection. "Alright, I'll call the movers."
Kailee smiled, setting down her utensils, full and content. "I'll show you around now. I've got loads to share with you. I even made a pair of diamond wings-nobody's thought of that!"
"Wow, impressive."
"Right? I'm pretty amazing. You're really lucky, you know."
Lewis laughed, leaning in to give her a quick kiss. "Yes, I am very lucky."
What do you think?
