Nora

Chapter 74

Chapter 74:

The two agreed on a time and place.

When he hung up, Cherry came running in. She looked at her wide-eyed and asked, “Mom, are you really taking me to lunch with Dad tomorrow?”

Nora rubbed her head and said calmly, “You have school tomorrow, so how am I going to take you to lunch?”

“…” Cherry hung her head dejectedly. “I knew it!”

A mischievous look appeared in Nora’s eyes.

Pete went to the Quinn School of Martial Arts every Tuesday and Friday. Other than those two days, he spent the rest of his time studying at home. He hadn’t seen his son for three days.

The next day, Nora sent Cherry out to the garden.

She stopped the car on the shoulder, as usual. Then she took Cherry by the hand and led her to the door, where a teacher was waiting for her.

Cherry was wearing a school uniform that the garden had custom-made and a large backpack. She looked extremely adorable.

The teacher greeted them, “Are you Cheryl Smith? You’re in class A. I’m your teacher. I’m your teacher, shall I show you in?”

Cherry was about to run in when Nora grabbed her shoulder. Nora said, “I’ll say a few words to you first, Miss.”

The teacher nodded. She was used to this by now.

Parents were usually reluctant to separate from their children the first time they sent them to kindergarten , and told them things like, “Tell the teacher if someone bullies you,” “Don’t cry. Mommy will pick you up on time”, etc.

The idea had just formed when she saw the woman in front of her coldly ordering her, “Don’t bully the children, don’t pretend to cry, and don’t bully the teachers. Did you hear me?”.

The teacher was puzzled.

When she looked again, the girl, who was now happy and excited, had straightened her back. She smiled and said, “Cherry will take good care of the teachers and the other children, Mommy. Don’t worry.”

The teacher felt a shiver down her back. Suddenly, she wondered, ‘What if that newly enrolled child is not a little princess, but an imp?’

Nora watched as Cherry, whom the teacher was leading by the hand, entered the garden hopping and skipping. Before crossing the entrance to the school building, Cherry said something that made the teacher laugh. She grabbed her at once and led her into the classroom.

Nora was speechless.

The little girl could really get along with everyone.

After dropping her daughter off, a relaxed Nora stretched and looked at the time. Seeing that it was still early, she decided to go home and take a nap.

At 11 a.m., she finally woke up lazily and got ready to go to the restaurant where she had arranged to meet Justin.

Before she left, Melissa stopped her and said, “There’s a dance party in a few days, Nora. I’m thinking of taking you there so you can meet more people…”.

Nora replied nonchalantly, “Sure.”

And left immediately afterward.

Melissa, however, seemed hesitant.

Simon asked, “What’s wrong?”

Melissa sighed. “A lot of people are going to attend the dance party. I’m afraid Nora doesn’t know how to dance…”

Simon was a man, so he didn’t worry about as many things as she did. He said, “Then let her not dance. We’re just going to socialize anyway.”

Melissa looked at him speechless for a moment. If she didn’t dance at a dance party? The others would just think Nora wasn’t fit to be seen in public!

Besides, all the ladies from wealthy families were skilled in singing and dancing, they didn’t lack talent. Nora was very beautiful; there was no doubt that they would make things difficult for her there.

Worried, she picked up the phone and said, “I’ll call Sheril’s dance teacher to give Nora a crash course! At the very least, she should master the waltz first.”

Justin had chosen the restaurant. After all, New York was his turf.

After turning several corners into a small alley according to the address he gave her, Nora finally spotted a patio. There was only a small sign at the entrance.

If she hadn’t seen the sign, she probably would never have noticed that the place was a restaurant.

The outside was decorated with blue bricks, while the inside was a world apart.

Behind the entrance was a tile-paved walkway that exuded a rich, classic flavor. There was a fountain at the front, and meticulously manicured shrubs lined both sides, making it look like a palace garden. The decor was very exquisite.

Nora followed the wait staff into the private lounge.

She had arrived ten minutes earlier, so she thought no one was inside yet. However, when she pushed open the door, she saw a tall figure sitting at a table in the room.

The long-legged, cross-legged man wore a black suit. On the wall behind him hung an elegant landscape painting and he drank from a cup of coffee.

The man did not look out of place even in a room as full of classic flavor as this one.

His skin was fair, and the beauty mark at the corner of his eye was seductive and charming. It was as if he had blended in with the décor around him, making him look like a young princely man from ancient times.

Seeing Nora, the man set down the coffee cup gracefully. He glanced behind her before pointing to the seat across from her and motioned for her to take a seat. He asked, “Where’s your daughter, Ms. Smith?”

“Oh, she has classes.” Said a cheeky Nora without batting an eye. She sat down across from him and asked, “Where is your son, Mr. Hunt?”.

There was a smile in Justin’s deep eyes as he said, “He has classes too.”noveldrama

“…”

If he had known his son wasn’t coming, he might as well have stayed home asleep!

That scum!

Nora silently reproached him. She took the cup of coffee she had just been served and took a sip. The coffee was very rich and aromatic: it was Geisha coffee. Moreover, it looked like Geisha coffee from the Hacienda La Esmeralda.

The coffee required unique growing conditions, and only a certain amount was grown each year.

I didn’t think a small, humble restaurant like this would have it and even serve it to customers.

Unfortunately, in his eyes, good food and good drink were not as practical as a night’s sleep.

Justin was amused to see her finish her coffee in one gulp as if someone didn’t know how to appreciate it. He asked dispassionately, “Miss Smith seems especially concerned about my son.”

Nora lowered her eyes and replied, “Yes. After all, Pete is smart, handsome, and adorable.”

A faint light flickered in Justin’s eyes at her response.

The look in his dark eyes was unreadable. It was hard to tell if he believed her or not.

The wait staff knocked on the door at that moment and began serving the food.

The food ration was small but exquisite and varied.

For food lovers, it was a great choice.

However, for Nora… This was too much of a hassle!

One plate was not enough to fill her mouth. She could have filled her belly with just a few bites, but in the end, she was forced to spend several times more than usual to eat.

She felt very frustrated.

Normally she could fill her stomach in two minutes, but it had been ten minutes and she still wasn’t full.

Nora looked at the man, who was eating slowly and elegantly. She couldn’t help but think he was doing it on purpose.

Ah, well.

She wasn’t here to eat anyway.

Nora suddenly spoke up. She said, “It’s so boring, Mr. Hunt, why don’t we play a game?”

Justin asked, “What kind of game?”

Nora’s lips curved into a smile. She picked up a bottle of wine from the side and replied, “Truth or Dare.”

She swirled the bottle.

Justin, however, reached out and pressed the bottle gently. He looked at her with a slight smile in his eyes and said, “You can ask anything you want, Miss Smith.”

That woman was certainly doing her best to get to know him better.

As soon as the thought formed, he heard the woman ask, “How did you and Pete’s mother come to have him, Mr. Hunt?”
