Nora

Chapter 75

Chapter 75:.

How had she gotten pregnant then?

Nora was very curious about it, so she looked at Justin eagerly, hoping he could give her a logical answer.

However, Justin’s smile was fading.

Pete’s mother was unmentionable to him. No one had dared to bring it up in all these years.

The moment he thought of all those things she did, he couldn’t help but wish he could find her and kill her.

However, when the person asking about her was the woman in front of him, for some reason, Justin found he couldn’t be mad at her.

She had to be worried that Pete’s birth mother would suddenly show up and end up affecting their life together, right?

Justin lowered his gaze slightly. Although his tone was soft, his choice of words was strong. “Don’t worry, I won’t let Pete’s mother appear in front of me and him again!”.

Nora fell silent as she sensed the sharp frigidity welling up from the man.

Hello, even though she was already in front of him…..

Besides, what was she telling him not to worry about?

She decided to be more frank about it and asked, “What I want to ask is, was Pete conceived naturally?”

“…”

Why were her questions becoming more and more explicit?

Justin thought of something and his ears went a little red. He put down the silverware, took a sip of water and laughed softly. “Is Miss Smith concerned that I might have problems of a particular nature?”

Nora was puzzled.

“I’m a normal man.”

Nora, “!”

He had only spent five years abroad, but he really found he no longer understood English!

The woman in front of him widened her eyes as a look of surprise appeared on her palm-sized face. For some reason, this put Justin in a very good mood.

He felt a rare urge to tell her the secret he was hiding deep in his heart, but thinking it would damage his image, he repressed the urge to speak and instead asked, “What kind of person is your daughter’s father?”

“Huh?” Nora hadn’t expected him to actually ask questions on his own. On top of that, she had asked about something like that.

Her slender fingers tapped the table and she laughed softly. “I’ll tell you if you answer my question.”

Was she referring to whether or not Pete had been conceived naturally?

Justin suddenly realized that maybe what she was concerned about was whether he’d had relations with other women. That was why she was pressing the issue.

He pursed his lips. With the beauty mark in the corner of her eye exuding a slightly serious aura, she said suddenly, “If I said I don’t know how Pete was born either, would you believe me?”

She only vaguely remembered that she seemed to be missing a night’s worth of memories….

A dark light flickered in her eyes. He thought probably no one would believe him even if he said it, would they?

Unexpectedly, the woman nodded earnestly and replied, “I believe you.”

Justin, “…”

He suddenly felt a bit of warmth in his heart, as if a ray of sunshine had suddenly shone on a flower about to bloom, making it bloom slowly.

How was it possible that Nora didn’t believe him?

The exact same thing had happened to her, too.

Curiosity led her to ask another question. “Since you don’t know what happened, what if Pete’s mother is innocent too? You…”

Before she could finish, Justin looked down and said, “She’s not worthy of being someone’s mother.”

Nora’s words ended abruptly.

The man’s tone was full of murderous intent.

As if he had thought of something, Justin said with a cold expression, “Let’s not talk about that vicious woman anymore.”

He looked up again and changed the subject. “Can you tell me your story, Miss Smith?”

“Oh.” Nora gently rested her chin on her hand. In a slightly husky voice, she said casually and quietly, “Cherry’s father? has a brain problem, so he’s an idiot. He keeps fighting and killing people every day, plus he thinks all the women in the world are in love with him. Jeez.”

Since he had called her a vicious woman, it wasn’t too much to curse him a little, was it?

It’s only an eye for an eye!

Justin frowned.

Idiot?

She’d always thought her premarital pregnancy was because she’d been young and foolish, ended up being cheated on. He asked, “Isn’t Miss Smith the best problem solver with brains?”

Nora gestured. “He’s very sick. I can’t cure him.”

Justin felt a little uncomfortable, but also puzzled. “Why did you have a child with an idiot, then?”

Nora, who was trying to stifle laughter, looked at him again. “Who knows, maybe the heavens think he shouldn’t be left without an heir?”

Justin scoffed and said sarcastically, “You do quite a bit of charity with that. After all, apart from you, that idiot probably won’t be able to find any other woman for the rest of his life.”

Tsk.

He did have a foul mouth.

Nora gave him an amused look.

Seeing the woman’s smile, Justin suddenly realized something: What was the point of her taking an idiot so seriously?

He picked up the silverware and continued eating.

Inwardly, however, he suddenly felt very curious and couldn’t help thinking, ‘I wonder what that idiot looks like.’

As he ate, Nora, who simply found the whole thing very annoying, said, “I’m full, Mr. Hunt. You…”

“I haven’t finished yet.”

“…Are you taking your time eating, shall I go first?”

Justin, who was still dining quietly, said, “Is this how the Andersons treat someone at a meal, Miss Smith?”

“…”

Nora sat back down quietly. She realized that the man was really very picky about his meals. He ate the cold dishes first before moving on to the hot ones and even drank a little water in between from time to time.

He behaved with elegance and beauty, like a beast in human clothing.

When Nora, who had always considered eating to be a waste of time, calmed down, she couldn’t help but think, “So the act of eating can really be that beautiful?”

Two hours later, Justin finally put down the silverware.

Nora let out a sigh of relief. When she asked for the bill, the wait staff told her, “Mr. Hunt has already paid.”

Surprised, Nora looked up at him.

There was a small smile on Justin’s handsome face. He said, “This time it’s on me. You can invite me next time.”

“Okay, then.”

She got up beside him and followed him out of the private room. It wasn’t until they were out of the restaurant that Nora realized what she had said a moment ago.

What the hell?

This meal alone was torturous enough; were they going to do this again?

That scum! He was trying to waste her time, wasn’t he?

The corners of his lips twitched a couple of times. The two of them reached the subway parking garage. As Nora pressed the car key, the big black jeep lit up. She was about to approach when she realized Justin had pulled out in front of her.

What was he doing, wasn’t he driving here?

She was thinking about it when Justin approached the driver’s seat, opened the door for her and politely motioned for her to get in.

“…”

The light in the parking lot was a bit dim, but when the man was there, it was as if all the light was shining on him. His actions were gentlemanly and thoughtful. “Be careful not to hit your head.”noveldrama

Nora felt her throat go dry.

As she got into the car and drove away, Justin stared at her from behind. Suddenly he smiled.

That Mercedes Benz jeep was very large and had a taller chassis. There was no doubt that the women who liked to drive that car had a wild and feral nature.

Then, he thought of the young woman’s lazy appearance: she looked like a cat.

And besides being a cat, she was even a little feral.

Nora drove back to the Andersons’ house.

Halfway there, however, she suddenly received a call from the garden. “Miss Smith, please hurry to the garden! Something has happened to Cherry.”

Has something happened to Cherry?

Nora’s eyes widened. She made a sharp U-turn, stepped on the accelerator and headed straight for the garden.
