Master of his heart (Brielle and Max)

Chapter 1464

Lewis pulled out his business card, a testament to his achievements and the state of his family's enterprise.

"Here's a rundown of my family's background, my personal accolades, and the operations of our family business," he said, laying out a thick stack of documents on the table.

Joseph frowned as he sifted through the papers, his brow furrowing even deeper when he came across the company's profile. The Sanchez family had ties with major hospitals, and the Xu family's hospital was no exception. As North America's leading medical equipment manufacturer, they also had collaborations with the Sanchez family, standing toe-to-toe in terms of wealth and influence.

What was more impressive was Lewis's life, which seemed like a cheat code in action. Excelling in everything he ventured into, his publications in the medical field had caused quite the stir. Now, working in a research institute, he was directly mentored by a leading figure, poised to become a medical authority within the next five years-all before hitting thirty. Such a catch was rare across North America. And to think Kailee, of all people, had dumped him?

"I've been into Kailee for years, knowing well she doesn't care for these accolades. But I'm willing to accommodate her. All she needs to do is keep being her carefree, laid-back self with me."

"After she broke up with me, I've kept an eye on her." Kailee had him wrapped around her finger, and he couldn't pinpoint why, but just seeing her filled him with joy.

Joseph's frown deepened as he went through Lewis's glowing resume. Finally, he let out a sigh. "Maybe you should get your eyes checked. Need me to book you an appointment?"

Kailee was a happy-go-lucky spirit,

living life without a worry. If it weren't for the Sanchez family's wealth, who knows where she'd be begging for scraps. Innocent to a

fault, with a mind that never wandered to the complex issues of life And yet, she snagged such an impressive husband-someone who went out of his way to win her over. Where was the justice in that?

Even if Joseph was biased towards his sister, he couldn't help but question Lewis's taste. Lewis's lashes fluttered downwards. "In this world, many dwell in filth and vice Kailee is the purest soul I've ever met, and I can easily guess her thoughts and preferences. Being with her is incredibly relaxing, a soothing experience throughout. Sure, she can drive me nuts sometimes, but it's always sweet, and I relish it." noveldrama

Outside, Kailee waited anxiously for Lewis, not forgetting to brag in her group chat. "Guess what? I married Lewis. We're hosting a dinner today, and don't you all act shy because; hey, I'm loaded. Lewis is now my hubby, and my brother's cool with it.

Same place as before, I'll head out to

meet you guys soon."

The chat went silent for a moment before erupting into disbelief. "Yeah, right. As if Lewis would marry you. He and Rubin are at the same institute, and you think he'd choose you over closer prospects?"

"Lewis once said he doesn't fancy women with no brains."

Seeing the chat, Rubin's blood boiled. Though aware of some secret between Lewis and Kailee, marriage seemed out of the question. "Kailee, could you be any more shameless, bad-mouthing Kenzo behind his back? You probably don't even know the first thing about Kenzo's background."

Kailee, oblivious and indifferent to Kenzo's stature, shrugged it off. She was wealthy, after all. "Just wait, I'll bring him over soon."

Right after her message, Lewis stepped out. Kailee hurriedly linked arms with him, trembling with excitement at the thought of showing up her so-called friends. Seeing her smug expression, Lewis knew she was up to no good. But what could he do, if not spoil her even more?
